How to set up Paid Subscriptions in beehiiv (Tutorial)

in this video you'll learn how to set up a premium subscription in beehive including how to set up an upgrade page and create multiple tier plans let's get straight into it first log into your bav account and go to monetization and subscriptions now click on premium settings in the top right corner from here you'll be prompted to connect to a stripe account this is a necessary step for setting up a subscription simply select your country and then click on connect to Stripe from here you can go through the simple setup process in what once you're done you'll be redirected back to the premium tab here is where you can actually start setting up the details of your premium subscription to get started toggle on enable premium subscriptions and you can now start creating tiers for your publication tiers allow you to provide different benefits to subscribers at different price points for example you can have a bronze silver and gold tier with different benefits and prices with gold having the most valuable benefits once you're ready to create a new tier click on create new tier here you can give your tier a name preview Vex pricing and benefits note that all these details will be visible on your upgrade page which we'll cover later here I'll give my tier a name and short description and once I'm done that I'll have the option to customize tier plans and pricing you can click the flag in the top right to change the currency for the tier plans and you can also set monthly and annual pricing just make sure to toggle on both the monthly and annual plan if you plan to offer both if you only plan to offer one or the other simply uncheck the one you don't want to offer next you can add the benefits for the monthly and yearly plans these benefits will be displayed under each respective plan on your upgrade page if your monthly and yearly plan will have the same benefits you can simply add the same benefits here lastly you also have the option to redirect new subscribers to any URL after they purchase if you want by default they'll be redirected to your homepage what's you're done click save tier changes after you create a tier you'll be redirected back to the premium settings page page where you can edit any tiers you've previously created add additional tiers and also archive or delete any tiers you want to edit an existing tier click on the three dots next to it and click on edit if you want to remove an existing tier you can click on archive or delete if you choose to Archive a tier new subscribers will no longer be able to upgrade to that specific tier but existing subscriptions on that tier will remain unchanged after you archive a tab you'll now see it in the archive tab instead of the active tab in the archive tab you'll have the option to unarchive the tier which will make it available to new subscribers again if you want to permanently delete a tier click on the three dots menu again but this time select delete and of course you can create additional tiers by clicking on create new tier if you have multiple tiers under the active tab they'll all be visible on your upgrade page which we'll cover next now that you created a premium subscription you might want to add it to your website it signup flow a signup flow is the post signup Journey that new subscribers go through after hitting the Subscribe button on your website we have a full tutorial on the signup flow on our YouTube channel if you want to learn more to edit the signup flow go to a website builder in beehive and click on settings then sign up flow now toggle on upgrade page now that it's toggled on new subscribers will be redirected to this page after sign up to view what your upgrade page looks like click on view your URL or add a for slash to the end of your beehive websites URL if you want to customize how this page looks like click on the layout tab and then click on homepage from here you can choose upgrade page from the drop- down menu now you can use the Styles and layout tabs to customize the appearance of your upgrade page for example you can add a testimonial section feq section and more under layout also if you click into the hero tier section you can select a recommended plan which will add an outline and most popular badge to the selected tier you also have the option to add a free card and add benefits that all free subscribers will have access to once you're done just make sure to click on publish upgrade page in the top right corner for a more comprehensive tutorial on how to use the website builder you can check out the video on our YouTube channel that's it for this video If you enjoyed it you might want to check out the premium subscriptions playlist on our YouTube channel
